I've got an old Folbot glider, 14' long, 38" wide, with a great cockpit for fishing and friends (96" by 28"). It's vinyl/cloth over a wooden frame. I'd like to replace it with something stronger and lighter. I've not seen any boat or plans for a boat like it. Would it be relatively easy to use it as a pattern for building an epoxy/plywood boat? Just trace off the flat surfaces, then transfer to wood? Am I overlooking something, or is this not done?

I'd appreciate any input, or information on an easy alternative.
