I am at the point of fiberglassing a Guillemot coastal. This is
my first experience with strippers and fiberglassing. The epoxy
appears to flow like honey in my 65 degree basement. This gives it
it a somewhat lumpy appearance with bubbles, holes and some sparse
coverage areas. I am either not handy with a squeegee or the West
System epoxy does flow better when a touch warmer. I am using 105
epoxy with 207 hardner. So far, I have a sealer coat, the glass and
three roller applied coats on the bottom of the hull. I figure to
sand and put on a final coat after I get the rest of the hull and the
deck finished and glassed together. It should be warmer here in Mass.
then. Questions:
Does heating the containers of the stuff help?
Will coats of varnish fill the sanded off bubbles?
How many coats should I put on the inside?
What does amine blush look/feel like?
