I suspect (though I do not know) that CLC's weights are (a) sans any equipment, such as seats, hardware, etc, (b) minimally built, as in light cloth, barely adequate epoxy, and (c) highly optimistic.

My Millcreek probably weighed in near its proclaimed 35 lbs just as a taped shell. Of course I'd used heavier luan and then over built some things, and installed others that weren't included (stripped deck). All of which increased weight.

So when I weighed mine in and discovered it at 100% over optimal weight, I rationalized it and accepted it. In fact, I even decided it was a compliment to me. In that I didn't realize it was that heavy, and am obviously stronger then I thought! :-)
