It's interesting to me how different boats have very different personalities with both primary and secondary stability. I've paddled and ridden boats that were fine until tip time, and then would flip without hesitation or warning. Others would tip over and then feel like they'd hit the floor, becoming very hardened in the water.

I've often wondered about secondary stability and deck shape as it relates to righting an upside down kayak. Haven't investigated it, nor have I rolled enough kayaks to speak on it, but I have wondered about it. It would be most annoying I suspect to have a kayak with superb secondary stability when inverted.
