I'll have to weigh my Cheasapeake 17 this wkend but I'm sure it's close to the suggested weight (it's really easy to heft up onto and carry on my shoulders). I'd agree with Nick's comments - I used ~1.5 gal of epoxy on the finished boat. No rudder saves some weight (I don't think they include a rudder in thier estimate).
