If I remember Psychology 101, our eyes see the world upside down to start with. As infants, we learn to invert the image in our brain, and that becomes natural. There's a book called "Drawing on the Left Side of the Brain" which teaches artist to exploit that. (Try drawing an upside down image of something you're looking at.) Flipping an image from left to right is more unnatural, as evidenced by trying to work with a mirror image. (Try drawing shapes while looking at your hands and the paper in a mirror only.) But that's all academic. Surely, if I can learn to roll, I can learn which foot to push forward with the lines crossed. It's only a few aluminum sleeves and a few minutes work, so hopefully I'll have the results of this little experiment by the end of the summer.
