I like this idea, but I'd put the mesh bag full of peanuts into a waterproof bag to try to keep `em dry. You could still take off the waterproof bag and hang them to dry in the mesh bag. You can get cheap mesh bags at drugstores. They're sold for the purpose of laundry washing.
