Seakayaker has 2 articles:

1) June 1995, Volume 12, No 2 for retrofitting a kayak with a retractable skeg.

2) Fall, 1994, Vol 11, No 2 in Chris Cunningham's article in building a Greenland kayak.
Rick Rubio incorporated this design but modified it slightly. He visits this site frequently incorporated this into
his boat. He's a bit modest, but IT IS SOOOOO COOL and works and looks
great.

These old issues of Seakayaker are difficult to come by, but they
will photo copy articles for $3.00 each. Go for it.
