There are several rudder controls that don't effect your ability to brace (I assume this is what you are asking).
Bulkhead footbrace/control: If you make a "bulkhead" that pivots, you can still brace by pushing against you other foot.
Pivoting footbrace pedal: Standard footbrace, but the pedal pivots or rotates.
Tiller: A rod sticking between you feet that can be moved without removing your feet from the footbraces
