I was thinking of a simpler, single mold. An analogous process is how fiberglass cloth is layed-up over a `plug' to create many fiberglass canoe or kayak hulls from a single master. The mold controls the shape, size, and some of the finish of one side. The other side can be left as rough as you want, or easily smoothed and shaped with a sander. Paul Jacobson
