>I don't know how much this will help, but I used a water-based stain that was purchased as a powder from Lee Valley Tool (Veritas Tool is their U.S. arm). I used the stain to create an accent strip along the edge of the deck and coaming. This is a marine grade plywood boat and the bond between the epoxy and the wood appears to be fine, no sign of any defects.
