Lay the cloth on dry wood. Whether pre-saturated or not, it needs to be dry or at least not sticky so you can position the cloth without wrinkles.

I just glassed my second boat and on both I have good conformance on the bow and not so good on the stern. This time I sliced the fabric and wrapped a 1 inch overlap into the stern. I ended up with not to many problems, except for a dimple where the slice ends, I don't know it can be done perfectly.

I plan to sand it fair and apply another layer or maybe two of cloth on the bow ans stern edges anyway.
