Contact the maritime museums. Both on Solomons Island and over in Chrisfield. Both groups do some interesting historical work, so if you're looking for workshops, they tend to be great. They both have some very interesting plans available for a pittance in their archives. As in complete skipjack plans for something like $10. They may have some historical kayak plans as well. At the least, they do good workshops and know a whole lot.
