Rick - I had a VERY different experience with Hypalon.....I used the Gaco brand, purchased directly from the factory(800/456-4226). It seemed fully "cured" after about a month or two, and it would not leave "smudges". I can think of several possible reasons why my experience was so different: a) I used a different brand, and they may cure at different rates; b) As I understand it, Hypalon has a limited shelf life....mine was very fresh; c) My garage, where the boat was built, gets very warm(over 100 F) on sunny days...in addition, the concrete floor has numerous cracks, which results in high humidity conditions in the garage. George Dyson says these are ideal conditions for curing hypalon...warm and moist. Hope this helps.
