Custom Seats

Their was some earlier discussion on this list about making a custom seat. Did anyone end up making the seat? How did it work out?
The theory was to sit on a bag of inflating foam, then use the result as a mold for closed cell foam.
I recently ripped my seat out (it was up too high) and I'm looking to make a new one.
I was thinking of the closed cell foam idea but then using the foam as a mold for a fiberglass seat.
I'm not trying to make a true form fit, rather just a general seat shape that I can line with a thin layer of foam.
