I bought the "happy bottom" seat, and haven't been too pleased with it. It doesn't provide much (if any) thigh support. I've got a commercial boat with a fiberglass seat that fits like a glove. I'm thinking of taking a mold of it, duplicating the shape with multiple layers of glass cloth, and applying a thin sheet of minicell foam.
I plan to cover the existing seat in plastic wrap, and use strips of cloth to form the mold (or just use the mold as the new seat). Has anyone done anything like this, and does this approach seem viable?
