Hadn't thought of that. Isn't that sort of thing (rot and delam.) more common with polyester? Something to do with its somewhat porous nature? Please correct that if I'm wrong.

I still like the pierced rubber disc method, as it's probably the most effective against splashing water when inverted (versus a small hole of 1/32" to 1/16"), but there should definitely be a means of draining _and_ accessing the compartments.
