Anyone look into the testing they do for Homebuilt aircraft?

Despite being built in garages, like our kayaks, or in my case my living room, the kit builder are _required_ to test the materials. Many of these kits use the same epoxy and type of woods that we are using. My coworkers replica of a P51 in wood for instance.

I could see many of the same tests being used.
