You could try spiling the carlins.That is scribing the contour of the deck on another piece of scrap,then transferring that contour to the carlin. Cut along that line and you have a fit .No stress on the hull-just a true fit to add strength,not stress . Could you do a little steam bending to fine tune them? I'd worry a little
