Thanks for help, I think i'll give the roller a try. I didn't like it much when I was applying the glass because it tried to pick it up as much as lay it down but now that its "tacked" in place with the first coat I'll give it a try again.
I went down this morning and the runs weren't that bad. tomorrow I'll give the foam roller a try. In retrospect, I was probably applying too much epoxy. I was using the squeegee and trying for a pretty agressive second fill. Next time patience, "Slow and steady....." Thanks for the help.
