Yea, I'm sure. Went and read a couple of msds to double check before I posted. Just glycerine. Some contain different types of glycerines and different ratios, but none contain acetone.

That really depends, and I don't know what on. I've had it go through paint in a split second, as in on the front of my car that had been repainted. And I've had it take many many years to even start damaging paint, such as on my big motorcycles gas tank.

You won't inherently cough up acetone. Kids poison themselves with it quite easily, and probably regularly. The government does require various additives for safety, such as one of the rubbing alcohols, scents in natural gas and such. But I know of nothing in brake fluid like this and it doesn't show up in the msds for the ones I looked at.

Fwiw, I'm not sure acetone will eat through cured epoxy. In fact, I rather doubt it. I've had brushes filled with epoxy that I had plunked in cups of acetone set up and cure completely. Granted, it took quite a while, but they did cure.
