The thought I have is what will the mounting block for the footpeg be made of. The amount of force that I put on the ones in my kayak would create a problem if the material were anything but 3/8" or heavier aluminum, maybe that is your material of choice. I don't think lighter matrial would take the strain between the holes unless there are fewer holes or they are spaced differently.
