I have done it both ways. Putting the coaming on after glassing does break up the project into a couple smaller and easier projects. Making the vertical part of the coaming before glassing is quicker because you can do all the glassing in one step. If you cut enough slits in the deck glass around the coaming it will conform well, then wrap it with bias-cut cloth.
