I am restoring an "orcha craft" wood/canvas kayak. The disassembly is going well. Should I be reclamping the oak strips as they are literally falling off as I take the rotten canvas off? Should I consider remanufacturing the ribs? They are not rotten. Are there any basic guidlines to follow in refitting and glueing.

Any direction is appreciated.
