I used paint sticks (straight ones), clamp them to the horizontal reference lines and then run a string on top of the sticks, this really helped and I was able to get them within a lines width of each other except for one which I am tired of messing with, but it is within a 16th. The string method works excellent for the endforms also, clamp the paint sticks to the vert reference lines and hot glue the string to the end form, it works great and even my wife says they look straight.
