I'm just putting the final touches on my CLC Ches. 17, built from a kit. It was a great project, and I definitely reccomend the kit. First, the scarfs are done and they are done right. Second, all the parts are cut on a CNC router, so the panels fit toghether right the first time. This contributes greatly to a true, straight hull. There is still plenty of boatbuilding to do even with the kit, but for the few extra $, I think I have a much better boat. By the way, CLC's prices on varnish, paint and accessories are pretty good, not much to be saved by shopping around.
