I have never had your problem, but I have had Fetch screw up my files when I upload them. Make sure you send the picture files as RAW DATA not one of the other choices such as TEXT. A JPEG file is a text file, but there seems to be something more too it when you use Fetch.
You don't have a problem with the case of the file names because the browser finds the files. Problems with file names would create broken links.
