I took your sugestions and one other (to use short 8 inch long pieces of glass) and it is working out to where it will at least work. I had to give up on getting the glass to stick to the bottom edge of the lip. I ran the glass straight down the edge of the lip and I'll go back and trim it off once it firms up. Rounding the edges helped a LOT. Air still keeps getting under the glass around the lip, but not nearly as bad. At least it is down to where I can just inject it once it is dry.
I also put a filet of thickened epoxy under the lip for a little added strength. I thought the filet would help hold the glass to the underside of the lip also but it didn't work out that way.
Feeling much better tonight, I really let it get to me last night for some reason. Even after I dropped it and split it in half a few weeks ago I didn't get as irked as last night. After getting half the coaming glassed tonight I'm sure I can get this portion of the project done.
