Another method for seaming the inside that has proven very successful is to pre-fasten the tape to the hull before taping the halves together. I believe that there are a couple of advantages to doing this.

1. You are assured of running the tape all the way into the ends of the kayak

with no breaks in seam coverage.

2. The tape is perfectly aligned with the seam; you don't have to reroll the

tape if you don't get it right the first time.

3. The need for an end pour may be eliminated, especially if you don't run a

rope through the ends for handles. An option to an end pour is to shape and

epoxy a lightweight wood (cedar and basswood come to mind) block into the

ends of the hull before seaming the halves together.
