would that be primary or secondary stability your looking for?
I see your point, but if you took the boat, say surfing, the greater area would also have a tendancy to flip it over. Also it would create a greater amount of drag.
BTW I probably should have mentioned in my last post I got a master's degree in mechanical engineering. So despite the fact I'm building my first boat, I know what all the numbers mean.
BTW Why do you want the added stability? Where do you like to take the boat?
