I recently finished the seams on our Chesapeake 16LT and did the following:

just plop down globs of thickened epoxy along each seam

"fillet" the globs into smooth and as-small-as-you-want radius' with a 1 1/2 or 2" cheapie brush(.89 ea at Frank's)

then lay on the glass tape continuing to go over the seam gently with the brush until the glas was wetted out
