In Response To: Varnish will nto stick to an epoxy/graphite mix (Robert N Pruden)

: I tried using varnish on my hull that was coated with an epoxy/graphite
: powder mix: it didn't stick and was peeling notoriously within a week.

I varnished my hatch lips which are glass/epoxy/graphite. Sanded with 80 then 120 grit and no problems with the varnish adhesion. I also have a boat with epoxy/silica/graphite on the bottom but it is not varnished. That would defeat the purpose.
