: That's very close to the depth on the Anuri. I think it's more close to
: 10" to the top of the coaming lip. It's probably a pretty similar
: boat to the Cunningham S&G but a little shorter and wider, shorter
: overhangs and a narrow flat panel in the center of the keel.
: I think I can get to a recessed coaming fine by looking at what others have
: done, but what would you do to lower the shear? Can you just mark the
: panels a bit lower or do you have to do more and modify the sheer panels
: as well? I'm thinking maybe I'd lower it gradually overall, but more
: around the coaming and swoop the curve out over the aft deck gently. It'd
: be a curvier sheer. Would you also have to modify the bottom edge of the
: side panel? How do you know where to stop before it won't float a person
: any longer? Don't want to build a submarine!
Tom;
I designed mine on HULLS and still cut the sheer line down a little. The aft cockpit measures 7" to the top edge of the lip and the front is 10" to the deck. It is a 3 panel deck. I have another one in the works right now thats a little lower. I also have made it shorter as well. The plan is a rolling boat though. I attached a link and pic so you can see it. Hope this helps.(has around 1 1/2" freeboard)
