Hi, I'm building a North Star strip kayak, and need to raise the deck to accomodate my 6'6" length and size 14 foot. This is my first attempt at building a kayak. Lofting for what I need seems basic enough. Just wondering if you experienced guys have any advice or know of any problems I may unknowingly run into. The hull will remain to spec and I think I just need an inch or two more height on the deck and then I'll fit. I'm just going to raise the deck part of the station forms through the front part of the kayak and keep everything else the same. Another customization is that it will have sonar and two flush mount rod holders. I can't wait!
thanks!
