Re: Strip: Another Lofting Question
In Response To: Strip: Another Lofting Question (John Straatsma)
Hi John
one of the popular approaches is to use a sharp awl,ice pick or similar object(I used the pointy thing for which I can find no other use on my trusty Swiss army knife) to make a series of small holes through the paper/pattern and into the underlying ply (or whatever you are using for forms). you then 'connect the dots'. you need to make sure the paper wont slip, (thumb tacks are good) and dont forget to put in marks for the various lines that go across the pattern, like sheers and water lines. It is a little tedious but having tried a few methods I have found it the most reliable
cheers
David
