I enjoy reading this board immensly and would like to ask the following:
Does anyone else besides out there think about cutting off the deck of an older fiberglass kayak and replacing it with a stripped deck? Or how about changing out that ocean cockpit for a keyhole while lowering the area behing the cockpit for easier laybacks? Call me nuts but I have found and purchased a couple of old glass boats for short money and I want to try.
Is this the best section to post such ideas? Or would a additional forum for fiberglass/wood modification be worth considering? I have been working on a Night Heron stripper on and off for a few months and am enjoying the process but I am honestly more intrigued with glass hull / stripper deck method. Would appreciate your thoughts.
