Strip: hull vs. deck surface area

I'm building a guillemot with square edge strips. So i'm nearing completion of the hull and looking at the dwindling pile o' strips beneath my boat - does the deck take less strips than the hull to complete? If it is easily recalled, what are the relative surface areas?
