Uhm, haven't you heard the saying that I have here in Canada: "It ain't over till the river is frozen solid". The river there looks very clear of ice with little risk of freezing for some time yet. I'd have to say that as a northern man you have plenty of time to paddle.

The paddling event sounded so pretty and enjoyable, it would be nice if I could round up enough folks to do something like that here. Now I am thinking that it's not such a bad idea. I'll have to see if I can round up enough folks. I know of only one or two here who would go out on the river as it is right now and right now it's got a lot of ice pans on it.
