There is a company called "Iturra Design" which offers a free catalog just jam packed with good information on band saws including how to buy a used one and what to watch for. The fellow who owns the company produces the "Bandrollers" which are roller bearing guides that function like the Carter guides but for the awesome price of $58.00! These bandrollers are usually about $70 in the bigger chains like Woodcrafter etc. You can call them at 1-888-722-7078 The owner was one of the nicest guys I've talked to on the phone and very knowledgable (sp?) I don't have any stake in his company, just very impressed with his band saw smarts.
