If you can get the 'glass/epoxy overlay to come off as a sheet you will be way ahead in time and the amount of dirt you create. You have to use just enough heat to get the overlay to peel without pulling any of the underlying wood off. The temperature involved is probably only about 150 degrees. A two-man operation would be best.
