: Hi Jeff,
: Are you sure it's the glue you're allergic to and not the cedar? Wood
: allergies are fairly common. If you do need to switch glue I would
: recommend trying Liquid Hide Glue. In addition to being a completely
: different formula, therefore less likely to still cause your allergy
: problems, it has a nice long open time. It's also made by Titebond and any
: woodworking supply place would have it. Like Titebond it isn't water
: resistant, but we rely on the epoxy and glass to hold things together
: anyway.
I can work with cedar all day long and not have a problem, it is when I add the Titebond glue where I encounter the problem. I get swelling in the face, hands and feet but luckly, no breathing issues. Does the Liquid Hide Glue have any issues with creaping over time or other problems verses the Titebond glues? I have used Titebond II in smaller quantities without problems but I seem to remember that some people had issue with the pigments leaving die marks behind on the wood. Titebond III is available in a darker mix which should create as much of a problem. Does Titebond III have creaping issues, sanding issues etc?
Thanks
Jeff
