John,

Very nice work on the knee tube!

You might want to just duct tape it in place and see how it affects the amount of room in your cockpit, and make sure it doesn't hamper your ability to enter and exit the boat. That way if you decide it is too tight you don't have to cut it out :)

I was going to put a knee tube in my baidarka made from 4" diameter white PVC pipe with a cap glued on the bow end and a threaded cap on the end facing me. I bought all the pipe and fittings and now it is still taking up space in my workshop. Started, farted, stumbled and fell. I might still do it someday!

How about a pic of the whole boat one of these days. I want to see how those fancy strips you glued up turned out!!
