Hi Dan,
Saw your post here and WB .... you got me interested in Vectran....also checked a link that had pictures and specs of all the different fabric styles.
I don't have any experience with it ... where did you get the samples? The Celanese web-site seems to compare it with Kevlar, in terms of stab/puncture/abrasion resistance (i.e. Vectran gloves, skateboards etc.). Is it expensive like Kevlar?
Only thing I can add is to NOT consider Dynel ...I used it for a football on the btm. of a rowboat I finished this summer....sucked up epoxy like crazy, isn't transparent, and has a "texture". Fine for my purposes on a painted "workboat" hull, but not on a kayak.
If you have a retail Vectran source to pass on, I'd appreciate it!
