I havent tried that, but my guess is that unless you have a large workplace, allowing you to place the laser far away from the strongback, then the shaddow cast by the allready installed forme wil create problems as you try to adjust everything in place.
When I did the allignment, I attached a tight string from one end to the other at the middle of the strongback, spraypainted the string, and removed it. The line keft by the string was used for aligning. I have read some where that you can drill holes in all the forms (at the same location) and then place a laser at one end of the strongback. When the laser goes through ALL the holes you have lined everything up nicely.
