I 'll be using pine on my next kayak as well. Just curious whether you filled the gaps with epoxy mixed with pine wood dust. Because that's what I did on the 2 WRC canoe hulls so far: mixing dust from the same wood in the filler epoxy. The result is a much darker fill, compared with WRC. If that 's the case with pine, it would show up much more because the pine strips are so pale.
