The ideal design for you is one which fits your physique and paddling style. it may not be very good for someone else.

How big are you? Height, weight, and shoe size. Do you plan to carry a little gear, or a lot? In other words, Will your ocean trips be day trips or extended excursions? This will affect the displacement of the boat you need.
