I have actually been seriously considering having an annual final paddle of the season doo. That would involve paddling on the river while the initial ice pans are floating with good amounts of shore ice and following that with a BBQ at Emily Murphy park. I wouldn't want to do this with ice conditions like I encountered yesterday but what I encountered last week would make it sufficiently polar as to make it cool fun. There could only be short notice for this event because it depends on variable ice conditions and there absolutely MUST be ice or it would just be another cold day paddle. Perhaps next year I should try to get this going.
