Strip: Mounting Footbraces
I've seen on a couple different sites (maybe even this one) suggestions on how to epoxy either nuts or bolts to the inside of the kayak so that you can screw footbrace sliderails to the kayak without running bolts through the sides of the kayak. What I'm wondering is, why bother with the nuts or bolts? Why not just epoxy the sliderail itself directly to the inside of the kayak? Is it because epoxy won't bond to aluminum (assuming aluminum sliderails)?
