I also realize this makes finding a
: spray skirt that fits more difficult, so maybe custom made one will have
: to do.
After going through some sprayskirt problems and not living close to an area when I could just drive up and fit sprayskits until one fit, I thought if I went through this again I would buy my sprayskirt first then build the cockpit to fit it. I have two neoprene spray skirts now, one that is a little big and one that is tight, just tight enough to think of getting trapped in a roll and not getting out. My cockpit is 34 inches long and I have short arms, so reaching far forward and grabbing the loop to release my skirt isn’t easy since it takes a lot of strength with this tight fitting skirt. If I were to do it over again I would build a shorter cock pit opening. Right now I am doing bench presses to build up my strength to make a skirt release easier in an emergency.
