The wife part I understand as I burned her deck with my sander at a joint about twelve inches back from the bow. We painted that front area black, but it took awhile for her to accept a simple solution.
The attached photograph, if I did this photo attachment correctly, show 2/3's of our team (now very experienced on boat three) using rollers and advancing from one end of the boat to the other.
We did the fiberglassing in the hot summer, some days over 100 Fahrenheit at the peak, and that made us work fast, but we got good at it.
We really felt that rollers, rather than sqeegee like the Chesapeake Light Craft instruction video showed, were key.
A second important factor we felt was doing the whole hull cross section and advancing up the boat.
